It is Finished!
“It
is finished,” Jesus cried.
Then
He bowed His head and died.
Not a
statement of His life’s end
But a
victory message He did send.
He
fulfilled His earthly mission
Believers’
death penalties’ rescission;
For
all of those who trust in Christ
Are
cleansed of sin and given new life.
“It
is finished!” His triumphant shout,
Then
willingly He let His spirit out.
No
mortal stole the life from Jesus.
His
sacrifice was the gift that frees us.
And
now in Heaven He is at God’s throne
Advocating
for us until we are Home.
