LUKE 1:15B - SPEECHLESS

Speechless

Luke 1:15b (AMP)
. . . he will be filled with and empowered to act by the Holy Spirit
while still in his mother’s womb.

A once in a life-time honor
Zachariah burned incense before the Lord.
As he performed this duty, an angel appeared,
and Zachariah couldn’t take in His words.
His wife would have a baby boy
When she way past childbearing age?
His son would be filled with the Spirit
And the people he would engage
In the spirit and power of Elijah
That mighty prophet of old?
His boy would become the forerunner
Of the Messiah Isaiah foretold?
Zachariah just couldn’t believe his ears
And questioned the angel’s words.
Then Gabriel said he’d be speechless
Because he didn’t trust what he’d heard.
The crowd asked what had delayed him,
Why he’d stayed at the altar so long.
Zachariah had to make signs to them
For the angel had not been wrong.
He went back to his wife, Elizabeth,
And God made a believer of him.
Immediately Elizabeth was pregnant
As promised, God had blessed them.
